GNP helps Missoula Charities

GNP business meeting 12/10/2009

Discussion was held about donating to charities for the holidays as we have funds and should use them to support our community.   Motion was made by President Marty (second by Duane Larsen) to donate $1000 to five local charities at $200 each as follows:

  • Giving Tree – Shannon, Charlie & Marty to do the shopping.  Will pick ten names off tree and spend $20 on each.  It was agreed that this amount may exceed the $200 allowance and the group approved an overage.
  • Missoula Food Bank – Raney asked that everyone bring food items to the 12/17 meeting and he will deliver check and food items after the meeting
  • Watkins Children Shelter – Shari will deliver the check
  • 316 Mission – Joan will deliver the check
  • Ronald McDonald House – Duane will deliver the check

We are also all gathering up warm children’s clothing to give to Duane to deliver to local schools to help kids in need.  He needs these items in his office no later that Friday, Dec 11.

Bring women’s and children’s clothing and/or personal items, blankets, PJ’s, etc, to the 12/17 meeting to be donated to the YWCA Women’s Shelter .

It was decided to forgo a Christmas party for ourselves and instead have it in conjunction with a recruiting party on February 11, 2010.  We’ve lost 3 members and need to fill the spots of florist, cleaning and photographer.

Lastly, our next meeting on 12/17 is the last one of the year so Marty asked everyone to make it a festive one!  Dress for the holiday and bring a candy item to share that best represents your company.  If not a candy item be creative and bring what you think best represents your company.

Grizzly Networking meets Thursday mornings 7 A.M.  at Westside Lanes 1615 Wyoming Street. Our next scheduled meeting is 1/7/2010.
